Grief Counselling
Honoring Loss and Finding Healing
Losing a loved one can be overwhelming, but healing is possible. Through compassionate support and understanding, I’ll walk alongside you on your journey toward healing and finding meaning amidst loss. Grief is not linear, and it does affect people in different ways. People grieve in different ways, and I respect that. There is no time limit ascribed to healing. Together, we devise coping skills in small steps to live our lives in time with new meaning. We ensure healing and acceptance by enveloping you in a safe space and a comforting, understanding therapeutic journey.
How Can I possibly Continue my Life without My Loved One?
A question I hear repeatedly, and one that I expect to hear. Irrespective of whether the loss is that of a parent, a spouse, a child, a family pet, or a close friend, the void overwhelms us, and we wonder how we can carry on without that special being in our lives.
The goal of grief counselling is to assist individuals in navigating the grieving process of losing a loved one in a healthy and adaptive manner. Grief can manifest in various ways, including sadness, anger, guilt, and confusion, and each person’s experience of grief is unique.
Grief counsellors create a safe and compassionate space where individuals can express their feelings, memories, and thoughts about the deceased. We provide validation, empathy, and understanding, helping individuals cope with the intense emotions and challenges that arise during the grieving process. Grief counselling may involve techniques such as talk therapy, support groups, and coping strategies tailored to the individual’s needs. The aim is to help individuals find meaning, adjust to life without their loved ones, and gradually heal from the pain of their loss.
Crying is healthy and not something to be embarrassed about or hold back on. It is a natural part of grieving.
Gender Based Violence
Empowering Survivors to Reclaim Their Power
Gender-based violence is traumatic, but you are not alone. Together, we’ll create a safe space where you can share your experiences, process your emotions, and work toward healing and empowerment. You are assured that this practice holds no judgment. There is no need for shame or embarrassment. The time spent with me in therapy is your time and your space to unpack your emotions in the confines of confidentiality.
Let’s look into this Journey Somewhat Closer
Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Counselling is dedicated to offering support and assistance to individuals who have endured any form of gender-based violence. GBV encompasses physical, sexual, emotional, or economic harm inflicted on individuals due to their gender identity or expression.
Through GBV counselling, survivors can gain insights into the dynamics of power and control inherent in gender-based violence. They can confront feelings of fear, shame, and guilt and develop strategies to regain a sense of safety and self-empowerment. Additionally, GBV counselling aims to raise awareness about GBV, challenge societal norms that perpetuate violence, and advocate for survivors’ rights.
It’s crucial to acknowledge that GBV counselling extends beyond women as victims and recognizes that individuals of all genders can experience GBV. As GBV counsellors, we understand the importance of providing a compassionate and supportive environment for all survivors, guiding them through the healing process and helping them rebuild their lives free from violence.
There are multiple layers of emotions to navigate, ranging from feelings of guilt, shame, and embarrassment to a profound sense of violation. We work through them all until you regain your strength, resilience, and a healthy sense of self-worth.
Anxiety Management
Every step forward is a victory towards inner peace and resilience.
Anxiety, characterized by extreme worry, can disrupt daily life and lead to social isolation and depression. It can be learned behaviour, influenced by circumstances and environment. However, anxiety also has a genetic component. Assistance in managing anxiety is available, with practical interventions often beneficial.
I specialize in managing anxiety, particularly in adults and in children aged ten and older. My approach involves working not only with the children but also with their parents, guardians, or caregivers. I believe that involving them is crucial for addressing anxiety comprehensively and promoting holistic management.
Anxiety disorders are typically diagnosed and treated by psychologists and psychiatrists, often utilizing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). However, in my practice as a Wellness Counsellor, I focus on providing practical guidance and employing cognitive behavioural techniques to address symptoms of anxiety effectively.
Recognising the Manifestations of Anxiety:
Anxiety can manifest differently in children and adults. In children, they might express it through physical complaints like stomach aches, often following patterns that provide clues to the underlying cause. Children may not always verbalize or fully understand their anxiety.
In adults, symptoms may include sweaty palms, increased heartbeat, digestive issues, headaches, and other physical symptoms indicative of the body’s ‘fight or flight’ response. In severe cases, individuals may feel paralyzed or immobilized by their anxiety.
Managing Anxiety in Adults: Differentiating between healthy fears, transient anxiety, and anxiety disorders is crucial. Lifestyle changes, wellness counselling, and cognitive-behavioural techniques can aid in managing anxiety and phobias. Referrals may be necessary for suspected panic disorders.
Wellness counselling offers techniques such as problem-solving, exposure management, cognitive restructuring, and mindfulness. Additional methods include relaxation techniques, dietary adjustments, exercise, and collaborating with a network of medical professionals, medication (only prescribed by GPs or Psychiatrists) might be utilised as well.
Anxiety can impair various aspects of life, but recovery is possible through appropriate management strategies and counselling.

Taking a Giant Leap – But You’re Not Alone
At the age of seventeen, facing the prospect of making decisions about one’s future can be overwhelming, given the limited knowledge and life experience one possesses. However, it’s essential to recognize that one’s initial qualification often serves as a stepping stone to various opportunities, often leading to diverse paths. Opportunities arise, and individuals are not confined to their initial choices; they remain open to change and adaptation. As humans, we have the capacity to adjust and evolve, albeit some find it more challenging than others.
Nonetheless, it is achievable. Sometimes, transitions are lateral or upward as individuals progress along their career trajectories. It’s natural for doubts about one’s capabilities to arise as individuals climb the corporate ladder. Here, in our nurturing environment, we address these common questions and uncertainties, providing support every step of the way.
Career counseling is designed to guide individuals through their professional journeys and aid them in making well-informed decisions regarding their careers. Its primary objective is to help individuals explore and pinpoint their interests, skills, values, and goals to make meaningful career choices.

Furthermore, career counselling addresses challenges and obstacles encountered in individuals’ professional lives, such as job dissatisfaction, career transitions, and work-related stress. We aid in developing effective coping strategies, enhancing employability skills, and elevating job satisfaction levels.
Career counselling empowers individuals to navigate their careers wisely, fostering their professional growth and enabling them to achieve their career aspirations. By furnishing guidance, resources, and strategies, career counselors assist individuals in manoeuvring through the intricate landscape of the workforce, ultimately finding fulfillment in their chosen career paths.
